Nepal’s Floriculture Industry Reports More Than NPR 11.5 Billion in Investment

On 28–29 October, reports on Nepal’s floriculture industry highlighted estimated sector investment exceeding NPR 11.5 billion and employment for more than 62,500 people. Despite this investment, flower and flower-related imports in FY 2024/25 were approximately 22 times the value of exports, while the projected Tihar 2026 flower, garland and plant market was NPR 645 million. These figures indicate a sizeable domestic market and opportunities to improve production capacity, supply chains and import substitution; the NPR 11.5 billion is estimated sector-wide investment, not a newly awarded contract.
